About our School
We are a specialist independent school dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging education for pupils aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

We focus on creating a safe and structured environment where students can develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning. With small class sizes and a personalised approach, we help each pupil achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Our school is part of the Polaris Education Community, a network of specialist education providers committed to delivering high-quality, tailored learning experiences. Through a dedicated team and a nurturing ethos, we empower our students to build the skills they need for a successful future.

Meet our Headteacher
“I am privileged to be the headteacher at our school, described by Ofsted as a haven for its pupils, where we believe that every child should have the opportunity for excellence: in their teaching and learning, their happiness and wellbeing, their achievements and in all areas of school life.
Children are at the centre of every decision we make as a school and we strive to create a nurturing, dynamic and inspirational education, which will set children up for a lifetime of learning. We believe that care and respect for each other, the school and the wider community are paramount to creating our school environment.
We believe our community here is incredibly special and the relationships we build are integral to our young people learning to trust us, in order to be able to learn without limits. We are proud of the achievements of our young people every day and love how they enjoy their learning, whether it is in our Forest School, at playtimes or in a classroom.”
Rebecca Pine
Selwyn is an inclusive place to work with a community feel amongst the team and a great support network. It is a fun and energetic place to work with lots of opportunity to learn and build on skills. I enjoy being able to be creative and flexible to adapt to children’s needs.
